Lean or Rich?

After my bike get all warm up.  When I rev the bike, the rpm will not come down right away.  So I am guessing the bike is running rich.  So do I close the air screw more or open it more?

OK you are hovering... that is lean, air screw need to be out say 1/2 turn.

My bike is still doing it.  And I notice that the bike don't have power around 3.5-4K, but kick back in above that.  I have about 3 turn out on the air mixture screw.  The bike has been jetted with 150 mains, 40 pilots, two shims under needle, and K&N pod.

Check for leaks around the carb inlet to the motor.  The easiest test is to spray some WD40 onto the intake boots and if the revs rise you have a air leak.

Take the slides out and plug one of the holes in the bottom.
Jet kits come with plugs to insert into the holes.
For racing or hard riding, they suggest only plugging one hole.
I used some JB Quick at the track on a friends bike and it solved the midrange stumbling. Just make sure the plug is flush with the bottom of the slide so it can drop all the way down at idle

This the first I have heard about plugging a hole. On other bikes they drill out the hole.
Common sense in not very common.

On a GS the 2 holes open would leave the slide comming up too fast. DJ sends you in their kit, 1 plug to close one hole and the other plug to make the other hole smaller. They say for hard use leave the smaller one out. However the slide comming up too fast will not do this. If you open throttle slowly and the bike accelerates fine, but open it fast and the bike jerks and seems like it falls on its face and wants to stall ... that is a clear indication that slide is comming up too fast. In f155's case I believe it should be richer. 3 turns on mix screw is just a starting point. More is fine... all the way to 5.5 turns is OK, but make sure your floats are at the right level, and the choke is not hung open. And of course air entering intake via a leak... always that is a suspect.
