Just ordered two of these for the GS.  The price on the website is 19.95, but when I talked to them on the phone, they said that they had to increase the price to 21.95 because K&N increased the wholesale.  Still the best deal I could find on individual pods :thumb:

yeah yeah...i was debating between the individuals or the lunchbox pod.  i ended up going for the individuals, because i don't like the idea of all that useless rubber/plastic on the lunchbox pod...i'm sick, i know.

i'm also planning on safety wiring the pods to the frame or something, just in case they pop off like you warned they might.

Compared to the drop in air filter, how much difference is there between the drop in and the pod filter? is it worth changing from the drop in to a pod? Any idea what the real world HP difference would be? Oh, and is that what is for sale on the hyperlink?'

The link is to K&N RU-0800 individual pod filters, that I found for 21.95 each.  I'm pretty sure the pod filters allow more breathing for the engine than the drop in K&N filter.

Stock >> K&N drop in >> K&N "lunchbox" pod >> K&N individual pods

This is the way I think it is, with less breathing on the left, and more breathing on the right.  The difference between the K&N lunchbox and individual pods is probably negligible, but both will offer sizable gains from stock, or a replacement drop in.  I have no idea what this translates to in dyno proven HP, but you can't get more airflow than the individual pods...I don't think.

yea i think that is accurate... but no bike is going to go... yea I see the lunch box pod, but I still want more air... Lunch box pod is plenty... heck its plenty to supply a VW bug...with a 1835 in it...
