steering / mechanical question

Hello, I'm new here and I'm new with my GS500. After not nice meeting with a car driver my steering moves up and down. I tried to fix it but ... nothing works. Any suggestions?

I think you may need to clarify steering! up and down? where from and whereabouts is the play? May be something to do with the yokes or handlebars or forks but i think a little detail is required if ya want some good response

Welcome! It sounds like the knurled part on the handlebars may have been stripped and  may need to be replaced, as well as the handlebar clamps.
