I've been looking at a lot of the GS's on the site, and I've notice two differences between the majority and my bike:  first all have an "aluminum/chrome/silver" engine block guard (where it says Suzuki) and mine is black, second I have freakin' white wheels, and most everyone else's are black.  Did the '93 have the black/white color scheme, or did someone paint my bike?  The guy I bought mine from says he didn't paint them!  Please help.  Is there silver underneath my black?

nope, the older ones (until ~97 i think) had black engines. Either that, or someone has been really busy.

I have a 93 and my engine is black, too.

Can you buy the silver?  It looks somewhat better, I think, aesthetically speaking.  Do you have the "white" rims or black?

I have a 95 with black engine and white wheels
I really hate the white wheels

I'm wondering, can you paint the wheels?  Or do you have to buy new ones?

EvilScooby

I've read some posts of people painting their rims. I myself dont have the patience of taking my wheels off. It seems too much of a pain in the A@@

do a search on the forums. there are several listed

you can paint the wheels, ie spraypaint. you can also powercoat ($$) em. my 91 has black engine, and white wheels (well had white wheels, now I have a different front wheel and its black.. so black front white rear..) do a search for painting rims, its been described here before... good luck.

I have a 93' too. Same black and white paint scheme w/ the purple metalic flakes in the tank's paint. White rims, WHO ARE THESES PEOPLE?!?

Just paint the wheels silver :thumb:  (or another color). Here is a link to a paint thread:
