anyone know anything about how insurence in Michigan works?  The accident was completly 100% the other guy's fault, he got a ticket, i didn't.  I was sitting at a stoplight (2:00 am thurs night) and got rear-ended hard enough to total my S-10.  I have PLPD insurence, so normally my insurence wouldn't pay for my damamge, but I can't believe I'm gonna get screwed out of $5500 cause some dumbass hit ME.   (to top if off, it looks like the driver was an off-duty cop and knew the officers that showed up at the scene...  maybe that's why he "hadn't had anything to drink", of course, and his GMC Yukon was towed and he was out of there before they were even half done with me)
any advice, comments, info would be great.

if i was on my bike that night, I'd be gone (that's one big trike... GS forks on a Yukon.....haha :nana: )

as far as i know michigan is a no fault state meaning you cant personally go after the guy

you need your insurance company to cover your expenses and then they try and recoupe their expenses from the other guy so if you onyl had pl/pd then you are SOL

atleast thats how its been explained to me
I drive a junk car so its never concerned me

yeah, Michigan is no-fault, but I've have been told by a few people that it makes a difference when the driver was breaking the law (failure to stop, speeding, etc.) and was %100 percent at fault.   But, I don't really know, i was hoping someone could anwser that for me.
thanks guys

shotguns can do wonders to change the minds of pigs.  especialy when you sneek up to thier bedroom window late at night and put some buckshot in the oppasite wall.  just be prepared to run real fast.
