Say it isn't so!  Last week Chaparral was selling Progressive Fork Springs for $46.99.  Now they're $69.96.

:o

That's a 50% increase!  :x  Perhaps we bought too many?  Looked too eager?

Luckily, MAW still offers them for $57.95. (Click on the MAW link and do a Ctrl-F search for MAW part number 02517.  The manufacturer's part number is 111128.)

Chaparral's Progressive springs (type 377-1128 into the search box at http://www.chaparral-racing.com ) are again listed at $46.99.  Maybe there was a mix-up at Chaparral and they mispriced them for a while?

It shows 46.99 but then click on the thing ... and it shows $69.96.
Cool.

Motorcycle accessories warehouse is the cheapest right now. I paid 69.12 including shipping as of 8/30/04. I think the list was 59? plus tax and shipping?

Bummer.  I contacted Chaparral's customer service and they fixed the web page to show the correct price of $69.96.

Whats this i hear about Yamaha Radian springs working in a GS? I know that Progressive Suspension has the same part number for the springs on the GS and Radian.... but how about stock radian springs? My buddy's Radian has a very stable front end, and I imagine you could pick up some radian springs pretty cheaply....,

SPARKPLUG1977

I'm certain they would work, as the replacement springs for both are the same. perhaps a different spacer length.

I bought some closeout Pro-race springs from LP that were listed as being for a Yamaha Radian.  I too noticed that Progressive listed the same part for both the GS and Radian.  I installed my new springs with the 0.75 inch spacers that were included, removed some oil to get the same depth as with the stock GS stuff....and wha-la...they work fine...no more clunking everytime I run over those manholes.  HeeHee, I got mine for $15 plus $6 shipping.

OK, dumb question from a newbie.  What/where is LP?  Do they have a web page?  Thanks.

Just a quick confirmation. The Chaparral link above is still pointing to the correct Progressive Springs to get for my 97 GS?

Yep, that's the one.

The MAW info from the first post in the thread is still good too.  $12 cheaper, but a little more hassle in the ordering process.  (Unless you order by phone, maybe.  :dunno: )

I just ordered progressive springs from MAW last month, and their system didn't seem to be new but I didn't think it was a big hassle. Unless the whole "call to confirm the order" thing was what you were talking about.

Yeah. I was kinda concerned about their ordering system too. I'm only about 30 minutes away from Chaparral, though, so I think I'm going with them. Thanx.
