To those considering Draggin' Jeans...

I just got my pair of jeans via UPS.  All I have to say is they're pretty damn tight.  I'm not talking about the waist, I had expected their sizing to be small and I ordered appropriately -- but these jeans fit like it's 1983 and I'm ready to party.  I'm not a big guy, either -- 5'8" and 155 lbs.

Seriously.  Awfully snug through the thigh, knee, and calf.  I don't know how folks can sneak foam armour into these things.  I don't know why it was a surprise, either -- not only did I measure myself (shh), I measured a comfortable pair of jeans and compared them to the measurements given here:

I'm going to send them back, bump up the wait size a bit and go with the 'relaxed' style.

I have the relaxed style and find them very comfortable.

From years of bicycling my thighs tend to be a bit thick. The Draggin jeans size I purchased was the same I would buy for "regular" jeans.

Yeah, I have to agree - my first set were too tight, but the service (from the Australian set-up) was great! I just sent them back, went up one size and bob's your uncle!
I got the sport jeans, in charcoal black (dunno if these are available from the US distributor)

A guy I met wears 34-34, but the 36-34 Draggin Jeans fit him... snugly.  Still wearable, but not as loose as you'd think, for getting one size up.

They also do cargo pants - heaps of pockets (lady's cuts are availavle in the jeans and cargos as well).  I think the lining in them makes them a tigher fit than the average pair of jeans.

This is an interesting topic.  Based on comments like the ones so far, I ordered up a size from my normal when I first got a pair of these.  I normally wear 505 style (regular fit) Levis in 36x34.  I'm 6'3" ~185.  Ordered up 38x34 regular fit Draggin Jeans and they were freakin huge!  Exchanged them for my regular size and they fit great - exactly like my regular Levis.  

And no I don't look like it's party time 1983  :nana:  

What's really weird is that cay and I, who are both slim, had such different experiences.  If there was a pattern of fat dudes and powerlifters finding them too tight we'd be on to something, but from what I can tell there isn't.   :dunno:

i think its a style thing.  some of us consider jeans that aren't relaxed fit to be too tight while others find nothing wrong with the slim leg design.  if you like your jeans on the loose side, you should probably go with the relaxed fit or cargos.  if not, grab a can of aquanet and go to town with your inner 80's child.   :lol:

I buy mine at VIR, they're at AMA every year, so I get to try 'em on first (and buy the cheap ones with a pulled thread or something!). I normally wear a 36" waist, but I couldn't button the 36 DJ's. The 38's are comfortable all around. And I'm another thick leg dude.

This is a little off topic, but oh well.  What would you guys suggest to buy for "the office" type casual pant that's protective as well?  All I've found on the net is either "jeans" or "leather".  Any other ideas that would look good at work?

consider 'overpants' in textile that you can wear over your regular jeans. good for the office because you can wear what you want under them and they're pretty easy to get on and off. What size are you? I have a pair of Tourmaster Cortech pants in a womens small (8-10). I wear mens small 28/29 and 30 inseam and the mens size was HUGE on me..I mean the knee protection was at my chins. I had to go with womens sizing...and they look dashing on me.

I've considered selling them, and the joe rocket jacket since I never use them. $50 for the pants.

Australian Draggin Jeans also have a 'chino' type of trousers which are much like you might see labourers wear. Depending on your workplace, these might be acceptable. However, wearing kevlar all day can be sweaty.
