Put a set of Pro-Taper bars on the ol' street GS. The increased leverage really helps front end feel and stability. Two thumbs up!!

dude the pro tapers are 1 1/8 and the stock gs is 7/8 how did you get them to fit. i might be able to get a set for cheap since one of my buddies races dirtbikes and if its an easy swap i might have to give it a try.
going fast isnt the problem, its the crashing and burning that hurts

The center is 1 and 1/8th, but the grip area is 7/8, You millout the clamp a little. The dirbike bars like MSR dominators are 7/8th all the way across.. so those may be worth a try... I liked them on my virago, on the GS I think wont be that much better than stock...
Cool.

i had a set of renthals on my bike for about a year.  they're a direct fit.  Wide as hell and super comfy.  I just put the drag bars back on about a month or so ago and the bike feels like a completely different animal.  I find my riding is more aggressive with the drag bars on because i'm up over the tank and front end.  I do have to admit I liked the dirt bike bars though.  they gavie it that kind of rattish, streetfighter look  It was nothing to push the bike into corners because they are at least as wide as the stock bars.

JakeD-getting your nipple pierced is not crazy. Killing a drifter to get an errection? Now that's crazy!

The Buddha

I feel most dirt bike bars are too wide... if you are sitting lower like in a cruiser, they'd work, on a GS its too wide and makes your wrist cocked to the inside.

Used adapters. Can't remeber the brand. Could be MSR? Moose? The adapters also act as risers.
