2004 GS 500

Please help me. I just bought my 2004 gs 500 and i am very happy with it! So far i have changed both front and back blinkers to smaller units. Also i have cut the back fender so it it even with the lisence plate. And i also threw on a tank protector to add a little style. Anyway next on my list was exhaust. That seems to be a joke so far i have not yet found a company to sell me exhaust for my bike. Also it seems that no one out there makes jet kits for the 2004's I would love to make my bike alot louder but i do not want to sacrifice they way it runs. Anyone out there that knows of a place please help me!!!! I am from Canada Close to toronto.  Why does it seem that buying 2004 gs 500 was a mistake with what seems like no possible upgrades.

Whoa, hold on there, the bike is just fine the way it is! It's okay not to modify your bike. What, do ya want to be like everybody else?

Your bike is carbureted similar to the '01-'03 (for you lucky guys) models.

I think there is a post listing all the necessary jets for the '01 & '02's, I just don't have it memorized because I have a '94. Sorry.

You may need to do a search on "carburetion", "jets", and/or "jetting".

The exhaust pipes for all models should fit. The only concern is the clearance necessary to keep the pipes from burning the fairing. If you can compare an older model with the pipe you are looking for to your's, side by side, you might be able to eye the way it would fit.

thanks for the advice but im still looking for exhaust and jet kits.  Any adivce on engine work that i can do to produce more horsepower?
