Bikes for sale?

I've noticed that there are a a few years of GS500 that seem to come up for sale often and I was wondering why?  Seems like the most often for sale are 2001, 1996/97, and 1990/91.  Why is that?  
I've been looking for a 99 and may have found one, but they are pretty rare.

Well, I don't know sales numbers for those years versus others, but it could be that more bikes were sold during those periods. Also, in the case of a 2001, chances are the owner bought the bike new, rode it for a couple years, and is now looking to upgrade. Not to mention 2001 was the first year for the larger tank and more updated body panels, so that could have something to do with it.

Just wondering...what is so special about the 1999's that make you want that particular year? Certain color scheme?
