huh.  wish i could get a closer look at that setup.
my bike (which i got about a half hour ago) has a dual headlight setup, but it leaves some ugly exposed wiring.  be nice if i could clean mine up to look like that.
don't know where the previous owner got the lights, but i do know he had to rewire them back to the switch.

cheers,

really dont have a clue what members bike that is. i found it when i ran a search and i really like that look. i saw the buell lightening headlight swap and that appeals to me more in the looks sense but i dont know about the wiring part of it. im not to keen on wiring a single headlight to a dual headlight unless its really just adding another headlight plug then im fine with that.

This is Sean's GS - you can see more pics on http://www.gs500e.co.uk, but this photo is old - by now the bike has been modded to extreme (USD forks, dual brake discs, ..., ...).

I got those dual headlights from M & P (//www.mandp.com, I think. They provide the wiring so that all you need to do is plug the existing connector to the headlight connector. However, as I have discovered lately, the stock wires are too weak for dual headlight setup, so I had to run additional wires (much stronger) from the battery to the headlight using two relays).

I did the good old Buel lightning headlights. The wiring isn't tough at all. All that is needed is to take off the connector, and direct connect the wiring. The colors almost match up perfectly. The rest is just using a voltage reader to find what gives power when said switch is on, then connect it to the corresponding wire on the headlight. Simple. I'll have pics soon, I made a box to hide the wiring. Came out quite nice if I do say so myself.

theres only a few wires running to the headlight though right? so it would prolly just be easier to wire in another headlight plug straight to the switch. ill see what all i feel like doing when the time comes. one project id like to try is a carbon fiber solo seat cowl. i know James G is in the process of making one but its so much more satisfying to do it yourself. id like to make all kinds of carbon fiber goodies. mmmmmm i love carbon fiber.

Quote from: 1998_GS500How much were the lights?

The Buell lights (the ebay ones look suspiciously like Buells) are $60 NEW at the H-D dealership.

Take your headlight out and you'll see what appears to be the entire wiring harness running through the headlight bucket...
