question about noise when i shift

sometimes when i shift i hear a screech almost like the front tire is skidding... could i not be accelerating enough when i release the clutch?

well, do you let out the clutch very fast or slow?

when you hear the noise, does the bike slow down a lot, speed up or stay at the same speed?

The only way you can skid a tire is in 1st or possibly second.  Third and above will probably be impossible unless your engine speed it way off.  Watch your tach when you shift it should not dip a lot between shift.
