I have two problems..

When I turn the steering column left or right all the way my idle increases about 500 rpms. Also after revving the engine the engine goes back to idle very slowly.

I think both of these problems have to do something with the throttle cable.
Has anyone ever had this problem and fixed it?

Jasco

I had this problem when  after I removed carbs and then put them back on.  the cable was biniding somewhere.  Problem ws soved by taking the tank back off and rerouting the cable.  I believe there is alos an adjustment that can be made at the carb end of the cable or maybe that is the choke cable.  I don't remember.

loosen the throttle cable or you could reroute it, I did that per Kerry's advice and it worked great

Also the if the idle is going back very slowly you are running rich and you should adjust your screws, I cant remember the link to the pic. errrrr

Aww heck I cant find it.
Kerry has too many posts   :P

Here is the bestpic I can find at the moment. The screws are on the bottom of each carb. If no one has messed with them they may have to be drilled out. Be sure not to drill the screws but just the very thin cover.

then you want to twist the screws as in the pic till they close then turn them 3 times out. thats what I did and it worked perfectly

Scooby..what do you mean by "drill them out"?

SPARKPLUG1977

they are not visible, they must be drilled out.  there are brass plugs over the adjuster screw.

seamax

I see. So drill out the brass cover and to expose the screw.
