well i got a friend who will sell '02 gsxr750 inverted fork tubes for cheap and now i'm thinking about doing this......as i read a lot of you racers use gixxer forks because they are so much better so this would be good for my bike....

anyway the question is, if i get the fork tubes, what else will i need to buy/do for my '92 to have this gixxer front end?

as many of you already found out i don't know much about the forks but i quess i'm gonna need the gixxer upper and lower tripple because the forks are thicker, a gixxer front wheel with both rotors and calipers, master cyl from a gixxer and a gixxer axel right?

if i buy these parts will it just bolt up to the GS frame or i need to do something else?

your help would be greatly apreciated

with enough work any front end can be grafted on to any bike.  I put a 1993 zx600 forks on a 1975 kawasaki h1 you just need a good machine shop to get the stem to fit perfectly on the new triples.

yup. you got it right. you need the whole front end. wheel, rotors, calipers, master cylinder, triples, tubes.... and a fender if you like. plus a way to get the headlight and clocks mounted too....  you also need a stem. you can probably use your GS stem and press it out if its not welded in... if it is welded you need to buy another one or custom make one. even if you use a gs stem you'll probably need to make some kind of spacer since the top triple diameter of the gsxr is bigger ....  I did a swap from an 89 1100. the bottom triple had the same diameter so i pressed out my old gs stem, pressed it into the 1100 lower and then had to machine a spacer... not too bad....  still dont really have a good headlight setup yet... and no fender mounted although i've got it here... all in all not too bad of a job, but 1100 was probably the wrong choice cause they are heavy and super stiff and i think they were 1" longer than 750 tubes in 89, but not sure... let me know if you want more info

yeah if your triples are all good and wheel/brake etc are good and all you need are tubes, I bet you wont find a better deal than buying a couple of used gs tubes....

katana 600-750 forks/tripples/brakes and rotors....
will work very well
you can re use the GS wheel and fender

i think i have a fresh rebuilt 87 GSXR750 41mm front end in the shed. missing fender and handlebars
i havent looked to see if the GS axle is the same...you don't want the GSXR 18" front wheel...NOBODY DOES :(
but it might work....

You need everything, and a custom stem. Or a press fit bushing at the very least to take up the slack between the thin GS stem and the fat gixxer triple hole. I have a '99 gixxer 600 FE on my '93 GS.

Thank Ken - and it actually works now that you set it up for me!
