Ok I was going to order a 15t JT sprocket from bike bandit and I saw that they had even lower gearing. Is 15t as low as you want to go on the gs? I want to make it eazier to do wheelys but I dont want to lose the ability to ride on the highway. They also had rear sprockets one steel and one aluminum are these stock size and what are the benifit?

I run a 14T front and it suits me just fine, highway and wheelie.

"Stock size" on the rear sprocket is 39 teeth.  Dropping a tooth in the front is about the same as adding 2.5 to 3 teeth in the rear, but keep the following in mind:
Going up or down by one tooth (in the front) won't usually require modifications to the chain, while a change of 3+ teeth in the rear almost certainly will.

Front sprockets are cheaper to experiment with and to replace.

You can go WAY up on the tooth count in the rear --
Sprocket Specialists sells aluminum rear sprockets for the GS500 with 32 to 74(!) teeth -- but you probably don't want to drop below about 14 teeth in the front.  If you really want to go wild, Sprocket Specialists offers front sprockets for the GS500 with 11(!) to 17 teeth.[/list:u]Because the Sprocket Specialists offerings are so numerous, it can be hard to find what you want using an online catalog.  I would be happy to derive specific part numbers and prices from the tables in my Chaparral catalog given Front vs Rear and the desired tooth count(s).
