torque specs for oil pan bolts.

Anybody know the torque specs for the 8 or 10 bolts that hold the oil pan on?

Just to be clear, I'm not talking about the drain plug.  I already stripped that on my old oil pan.

7.0 ft-lbs (10 N-m)

damn, now if  my torque wrench only went that low.  Mine doesnt' start till 10ft-lbs.  and I don't have the cash to giet a smaller one right now.
I guess I'll just have to be careful.

That gives you an idea of how little force you would need to exert out at the end of a long torque wrench handle.  You will need to exert more with a shorter wrench of course.  But like you said, just be careful.

As an example, when I replace the oil filter cover I only use my smallest, 1/4"-drive socket wrench.  It keeps me "honest".

It does not take much to stretch and snap those bolts, something like 15 ft-lbs will easily ruin them.  :mrgreen:

yeah,
I"m going to use my 1/4" dirve and just snug them plus maybe a quarter turn.

And I'll resist the temptation to crank really hard on them..... must resist.....mmm....donuts.
