Sealed Battery Rubbed itself to death?

Okay guys,

I've got a 12BS sealed batt. and I had to take the battery cage out to get it to fit.  It does now fit, and I do have to take the rear-most bolts out of the tank to get it wedged in there, but it sits in there very happily.  My dad thinks that the stock inner fender's bolt location (where the battery box bolts to the fender) will eventually cause the sealed battery to rub itself a hole, therein leaking all the acid out and basically killing everything.

So...I went to the local hardware store, and bought a piece of lexan/some kind of hard plastic (8"x10"x.093" or something like that) to reinforce/insulate the battery from the plastic fender.  Has anybody done anything like this and have pictures of it?  I couldn't find a sealed stock size battery, so that's why I "upgraded" to the bigger one.  Oh yeah, it's an '00 with 6500 miles, starts up RIGHT NOW with the sealed batt. in there.

Thanks for any picts/ideas!

Here is the easy solution to rubbing parts:
Duct tape them... that's right... Duct tape them
Put a layer or two of duct tape on where you think it will rub the frame. If any rubbing occurs, then it will be to the duct tape. It works for all kinds of stuff: I put two layers onto the keel (ridge) on the bottom of my touring kayak so that any rocks it comes in contact with wont damage the kayak itself. (I love the fact that it doesn't peel off under watter).
ARE THE BOLTS ON  THIS THING ALUMINUM?

Check out KeLL's photos in the rerouting battery cable thread.  Granted, she installed a different battery (from Canadian Tire).  But according to Srinath the ES12BS should install the same way.

I'm sure several folks would like to see similar pictures with the ES12BS battery.
