That link brings you to a bunch of diff shields. To narrow it down what do you want it to do exactly? Look cool, keep some wind off you. Keep ALL wind off you? I used to have the F-18 from National Cycle http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/ProductDisplay/c-10111/s-10101/p-142345/mediaCode-ZX/appId-119415 It looked good more then anything else, while it did keep wind off my chest some. It in return had the sheer fly off the top and smack my helmet causing neck fatigue after a hour or two riding. Basically good for short trips or around town. You can get low and slip stream pretty good but that kills your back after a while. If you want something that will really block the wind then its going to be big and not look too great. I just replaced my F-18 with this model http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/ProductDisplay/c-10111/s-10101/p-143269/mediaCode-ZX/appId-79525   I'm going on a long trip and dont really much care what it looks like, its more for comfort.
Some people go w/ something like this http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/ProductDisplay/s-10101/makeId-11050421/p-3011/c-10111/modelId-11068696 which does a similar job as the F-18. Hope this helps. :mrgreen:

thanks alot it actully does i was looking at the f18 but wasnt sure the other one says it adjustable so how does that work. thanks again

the f-18 is adjusted by loosening the bolts and moving the hardware a little more up or down in the grooves. if that makes any sense.

do you have any pictures of that mounted?  i think i have the same windscreen, but i'm missing some hardware for it.

i spent just enough time on the freeway yesterday to start thinking that some wind protection would be nice above 60mph.

I have the Item ZX014085W Medium Tint 18-1/2" H Windshield (the Deflector Screen N2591).  It looks good and gives great chest protection.  However, I get more helmet noise at freeway speeds than without it.  All I need are some earplugs, and I am good to go!

I used a Slipstreamer Spitfire all last year and again this year thru my June trip south to the Smoky mountains.  Was the right amount of windshield for me on the GS's after having used a larger Plexi 2 type for almost 300k miles before that.  Due to the unusual amount of heavy rain on the trip and after, I went back to a plexi 2 type shield for the rest of this year.  Will set it up for both types again next season and put the bigger Plexi 2 on for trips.

bcbickers:  When I first put the Spitfire on, I had the same high turbulance right in the face you describe.  Since it was as high as it would go, I lowered it so the line of heavy turbulance from the top of the shield would pass at neck level instead at face level.  Much better that way so you might want to give that a try on yours.  Could cruise 70-80 mph indicated all day with it like that and I never use ear plugs.

Ive got one similar to bcbickers shield its a Givi screen and gives good chest protection I dont get that much wind noise because I'm pretty short so the wind just hits the top of my helmet.
The biggest problem I find with these screens are if you start turning the throttle they muck around with the handling once you go past about 120kmh you can start to get a weave if you start cornering or overtaking on a bumpy road, it really becomes a problem if you tip in to a corner over 130kmh Ive had a couple of weaves that you could not ride out of and have had to ease off the throttle to get the bike back into shape. Basically it comes down to the screen pushing your handlebars because of the wind turbulance. They are good for touring with luggage as you generally wont be going as quick but for sport riding forget about it or go a smaller screen.
BTW it will be slightly different depending on tyres my original crap tyres that came with the GS didn't seem to mind the screen as much as what the BT45's do, the weave is much worse now with the BT but the grip is SOOOOO much better.

thanks for the link and the pics.  unfortunately, as far as i can tell, you can't buy the mounting hardware separately, so my shield's useless unless i can fabricate something.

A length of door trim along the top smoothes out the turbulence a little, as it rounds off the edge.
