Crank Case Vent?

So I will probley be upgrading a bunch of things on my GS this winter.  One thing I will be doing is removing the air box for a K&N pod, part # RU-2970.  I was wondering one thing though, what do you do for the crank case vent, I assume you put another filter on it, correct.  Is there any other options?  I dont really want to spend $20 for a little filter when my pod is only 30.

you can also just put a $2 pcv valve on it if you can find one that fits.  make sure you fit it in the right direction.

If you're going to be dripping blow-by on the road, I wonder if you could run the PCV valve into some tubing, down to the rear sprocket, and make an "automatic chainoiler", using the blow-by to lube the chain ?  Anybody ever put a bottle on the end of the vent tube (any racers out there?), that would know how much comes out?  Even a few drops per hour would be OK.

OK blow by to chain is a awful idea... tried it and gave it up... and here is why...
Blow by is water, usually as a vapor but when cold its liquid, soot/carbon, gas also as vapor, air and of course very little oil... Nothing you want to have on your chain... the gas and water will do more harm than the good from oil. I have evev tried to bottle it and have the vapor and gas separate and let the soot settle... but unfortunately that also doesn't go to plan.

Check Advanced Auto,Auto Zone,or O'Riley's for those small ones that look like the K&N one.I think they are around $9.I gave $10, off amazon.com, for my RU-2970.

I second ben2go.  His setup mirrors mine.  Cheap and easy.
