I've been there every year too - and wasn't going this year because of other commitments the first weekend. The reschedule allowed me to go!

Give us an update since Speed wants to show some dirt track car racing from who knows when.  :dunno:

It was Duhamel's day man!! Dude ran 3 of the 4 races (2 Superbike, 1 Formula Extreme, and 1 Supersport - he didn't run Supersport)!

First Superbike race saw Mladin start strong and run out for the lead. A few laps in Duhamel and Yates (I hate that guy!) took control and began swapping the lead. Yates' Suzuki seemed to have a little more hp than Miguel's Honda, but Duhamel consistently pulled off some awesome late brake passes to get back by the Georgian in the corners. The 2 battled for the second half of the race, with either of them within grasp of the checkered right til the end. Duhamel took it. Mladin I believe finished sixth, which was plenty good enough for him to clinch the championship without even running the second race. Ben Bostrom rounded the podium.

Mladin ran the second SB race, even though he was already the champ and didn't need to. He dogged it though, didn't even look like he was trying. I was hoping he'd be riding all out since he had nothing to lose. Duhamel came out front with Yates challenging in the early laps, but Miguel was en fuego and there was no touching him. Every lap he pulled a little more distance and with a few laps to go, the second place Yates couldn't even SEE Duhamel. I believe he finished with a 12 second lead.

Duhamel then went on to dominate Formula Extreme, and become the '04 FE champion.

Awesome racing. Weather was nice, sunny but not too hot. VIR is always a great track to go to. There was a good crowd there, but the reschedule seemed to have hurt attendance pretty significantly. I took a few rolls of pics, I'll post in a few days when they're developed and I have a chance to scan the good ones!

Thanks for the update. If you like VIR you need to make plans to go to Barber down in Brimingham next year. The museum is worth the whole trip.

Yeah, I'd like to make it out there. I've got so many event commitments during the season that it's hard for me to get out of Virginia. I am going to try and make a point of getting to Laguna Seca for MotoGP next July though!! I've never been out there either.
