Document is Under Construction:

A. Look up the appropriate FAQ for the requirements for Jetting your bike according to the year.
B. Select if you want to do DIY or JetKit. If Jetkit - use instructions that came with the kit.
C. If DIY then buy the components required (K&N Filter / Jets / Allen Screws / Washers)

1.  Lift up tank, turn off tank based fuel petcock and remove pipes from underneath.
2. Take off Airbox. To take it off, you need to undo the clamps that connect the airbox to the carbs and unscrew the bolts on either side of the airbox (under the seat on the side). Throw away airbox if your using the K&N RU-2970 (okay set aside rather than tossing it into the trash can). If your using the K&N or UNI Drop-In then replace the existing airfilter with the K&N or UNI filter.
3. Remove Clamps on the other side of the Carbs that interfaces it to the Intake.
4. Remove any cables that are holding back carbs from being taken out. Carefully take out the Choke Cable and the Throttle Cable. NOTE: 2001+ carbs have 2 cables for the throttle.
5. Place carbs on a work bench and cover up openings with tape.
6. With carb facing the normal way, open the Float bowl screws and drain out the gas in the carbs. The float bowl screw is a philips head that points outwards and has a small nipple under it.
7. Using an EZ Out drill bit, take out the brass plugs  on each float that cover the airmixture screws. DO NOT drill too deep or you might end up damaging the airmixture screw's slot.
8. Using an Impact Wrench/Screw driver take off the 4 philips head screws that hold the float bowl in place.
9. Unscrew the jets carefully and replace them with the new jets.
10. Close float bowl but this time use the Allen Bolts to secure the float bowl to the carbs. Discard the lousy philips heads.
11. Reinstall carbs to the intake. Make sure you connect all cables that were taken off.
12. Install airfilter replacement or the airbox on the other side of the carbs.
13. OPTIONAL Once carbs are secured to the bike. Take off the 4 screws on the TOP of the carb. Caution: There is a small O-Ring under the cover that should be kept track of. Without which you will have a intake leak and the bike will run badly.  Lift out the slides and add additional washers to increase needle height.  Examine diaphram (rubber peice) for any tears.
Close back the slides. Make sure the O-Ring is there.
14. Connect back gas tank tubes, and turn on tank petcock.
15. Set frame Petcock to PRIME(PRI) and let the float bowls fill up.
16. Start motorcycle. Adjust the airscrew with a small stubby flat head to required number of turns.

There are two excellent write-ups done by gstwin members. They compliment each other and have great pictures.
