Drilled Slides, can I keep 'em?

So I bought a set of used carbs to replaced the defunct ones I currently have.  The previous owner installed a stage three jet kit, but I don't have after-market exhaust so I need to revert back to stock jetting.  However, the slides from the new carbs are in much better shape and I'd rather use them over my old ones, but they've been drilled.  If I have stock exhaust and jets will drilled slides cause problems?

You should be fine.  Srinath would better know, but really it should be fine if you jet down to stock sizes.

DynoJet provides plugs with their jet kits. I came across a set of carbs with modified slides from a DynoJet install. With one of the plugs installed, I do not get the idle hang any more. The plug is only a plastic set screw. They have two types: one with a small hole and the other is solid.

If they are drilled to the 10-24 tap size provided by DJ... you need to block off 1 hole. Tap it with 10-24, buy nylon screws and install and cut it flush and sand it smooth. That is if its going to be stock or close, if you are jetting it to K&n instead of the air box then close both and drill the plugs with a 1/16th drill bit. Either way... BTW you can slide the rubber pieces off the drilled ones, and take it off your old ones and swap them. If that was what is in nicer shape... slides dont wear that much... Your old ones may be fine.
