Is it possible to get new casings for the handlebar controls (or whatever they are called)? I am restoring/rebuilding a 91 and I am just wondering if it is possible to get new casings without having to buy the whole unit. Mine used to be black, now they are grey and ratty.

No. They are built like walkmans, ie" the switches and controls are built into the cover/pod.

If you are too cheap to just buy new ones, you can get Meguiar's "Gold Class Trim Detailer" from auto parts places that does an awesome job of restoring faded plastic.

The stuff mentioned before works much better than ArmorAll. I've brought almost faded white plastic back to nearly new looking again.

The only down side is that it seems to wear off, and the plastic begins to fade again quicker than it does orginially.

I'll try to treat them. I don't mind buying new one, but I have so many other parts to buy, I was hoping I could get away with just buying the casings.
