I use a usb 128 flash player with some really thin sony earbuds that are almost tear shaped.  I dont know where i got them anymore but they fit good inside my helmet even in my itty bitty extra small helmet with my itty bitty head !  I just download diffrent playlists every other day, cause i ride 40 mi + daily on my commute to work and school. I cant stand the sounds of my own thoughts that long ;). And OMG i cant imagine changing songs when i ride, but maybe im just not that coordinated.

Very nice input from you all.

skrap1r0n, check this out http://cnn.netscape.cnn.com/ns/news/story.jsp?id=2004102207460002605881&dt=20041022074600&w=RTR&coview= . I thought it was pretty interesting if you're into satellite radio.

I hum 'Flight Of The Valkyries' when I ride.

Man that sucks. Let us know when you find a solution.

weaselnoze

the only solution i can think of is duct taping them to my head but that could cause some issues

Most helmets now have pockets near the ears designed to take communications type earphones - like used by a Chatterbox communication system.  They are flat and about the diameter of a US 50 cent piece - maybe 3.8 inch thick.  If you look at headphones you can probably ID some that have this type assembly inside the fancy housing - take off the housing, insert the phones in the pockets - if it is an actual pocket it is pretty easy - sometimes it is just a recess in the lining - then use a small piece of velcro.  Run the wires behind the lining or in the creases between pieces - tuck it up under the edge of the styrofoam at the bottom of the helmet - run it around to the back and leave about 1 inch or wire and the connector hanging.  Buy a small double ended connector from Radio Shack.  Velcro this to the back of your helmet - plug the headphones into it.  Buy a double ended stereo cable from Radio shack - plug this into your I-Pod or whatever and into the other end of the connector on your helmet and it will work fine.

If you are any good with a soldering iron you can even disassembele a cheap set of noise-cancelling headphones and make them work.  Since they are only rear your ear, rather than in your ear, they are more subject to being drowned out by wind noise.

does anyone have a CS12? does this helmet have those "pockets"?
