When testing compression I have been told two different ways of going about it.

One is after installing the tester crank over the enging three times then take a reading. I have also been told to crank it over until you get your highest reading.

On my bike (33,000miles) after three compression cycles I get a reading of 135psig. After five or six compression cycles I can get readings of 155-160psig.

What does everyone else do? What do the pros think?

i'm pretty sure that the highest reading you get is the most accurate.

Yeah the reason that you get different readings is because of oil helping the seal, my guess is that the rings are skightly coated once you get into six or seven turns, where they are not at 3 or 4 turns.
