my front brake switch isn't working.  i'm trying to find info on the part/instructions on replacement.  i have a gs 500 2001.

any hints or helps on the front brake switch part would be helpful.

i'm ordering pads as well to install near the same time.

an aside, these verifications on the forum are VERY confusing.  i had to try 10+ times to register.  The  questions aren't really something a novice cycle rider can answer, and the letter box is unreadable to guess the letters...

Its a generic part that fits many different models.

Quote the part number on the packet to a dealer or on-line parts supplier.

Cant say I have ever seen any pattern alternatives but that doesn't mean they don't exist.

Its mounted underneath the brake lever, 1 screw and two spade terminals.........you cant go wrong  :thumb:

I think these verification annoyances go away with the number of posts....exactly how many someone else needs to explain.

thanks for the reply!  the part number was helpful. i was able to order the parts online using that info.  helped to also find my bar ends that i needed too :)

what does the fuel line and air box connect to?  who can spell carb correctly?... arg... what year was the gs introduced in the us?  I had a 1983 GS 550L; I think the GS line was introduced in 1978 ish.  But that's not the answer they're looking for.

I struggled with that question too have no idea. But the year would be 1989 as it is the gs500 they are asking about
