Fastest Brake Job ever

15 minutes tops.  There has to be something wrong up front though. I ran through this last set of EBC kevlars in about 2500 miles.  As soon as it snows the front end is coming apart and getting a complete fork job and new steering stem bearings. Maybe the new set will last a little longer.

now off to play grand theft auto.

Hmmm.  The same thing happened to JohNLA last November.  His front EBC Kevlar pads were GONE after 900 miles.    It was quite a surprise for him, and for me too.  (I put ~18,000 miles on a set.)

im convinced its the sliding caliper design, after time the caliper drags on its rails, doesnt slide like it should, ive tried cleaning, and all sorts of diff hi temp lubes to get it to function like it should,  i would get about 500 miles and they wouldbe sticking agian. even the dry graphite doesnt seem to work. we need the opossed piston calipers upfront.

How bout straping on  a Gsxr-1000 radial mount braking system?!?!?!!
Then you could go through 2 pairs half as much...



Seriously though, I have had my EBC's on for about 2000 miles and they are still relatively new. Cant visiably tell there has been alot of wear.

Could be a sticky sliding caliper, or a sticky oiston in the caliper.Suzuik may sell a kit to rebuild the caliper with new seals and such.You generally have to hone them out nich and smooth too.If you don't want to do it yourself, any place that sells brakes, calipers, and such for cars that rebuilds calpers coulk probably do it for you.
