OK on my truck ... I was running these 80/100 headlights when I start to see the right one go dim ... I swap bulbs and still dim,the left one in the right still is dim...
I look at the wiring and notice it looks a bit shitty ... like slightly melted...
So anyone seen it happen ... its a 97 F150 and the right headlight wire seems to have a big loss in power... happen to anyone BTW high beam is also the same dim crap... How to fix???
Cool.

If you run higher than the stock wattage it will melt the wiring because it gets too hott.  Happens a lot when kids in my area think its cool to use the high wattage blue headlights.  FOOLS!!!!!

OK good ... pretty much knew that ... BTW my reflector was crappy and the headlight glass was like opaque and frosted and looked like it had paper stuck behind it ...
Now about the wiring .... how do I fix it ??? .... can I get a pigtail ... like from the main loom to the bulb.... Funny thing ... no one ever flashed me or did anyhitng with the brighter lights on...  one light goes limp and everyone is flashing ... So how to fix wiring ... anyone...

Stock wires are usually too thin - I suspect even with 55W bulbs the voltage drop on the stock wires is large.

So if you want brighter lights, you should start with wiring. Then you could go up on the wattage.

You should try something like that:

Maybe you could use 4 fuses and 4 relays - one per bulb - so you'd only loose one bulb if one fuse fails...

I did something like that after installing dual headlight on my bike - and it made a world of difference in brightnes!

PS: I had some trouble getting the H4 connectors for my own wiring - but I think there are lot's of places that sell that in the US.
