Hello everyone I need some help on how to get my bike started. The last time it ran it was about a month ago and it was cold (still is) but it ran perfectly fine once warmed up. I then added fuel stabilizer, let her idle for a bit, and turned it off. I have since added a new battery, plugs, and drained the old gas and carb bowls and tried again with fresh fuel. It cranks over like a champ but just won't start. I am of course giving it full choke and opening the throttle a little. I even tried messing with the idle adjustment screw but that didn't seem to do anything.

Any advice?

have you put your petcock on prime? are you sure, fuel is getting to the carbs?

Yeah I put it on prime after I added new fuel. I heard fuel trickling down. There was also fuel in the carbs before I drained it all and it wouldn't start then.

Okay are you getting spark?

Take one plug out, ground it off on the engine. and turn it over for a second. do you see a spark?

also check your spark plug gap.

Sticky floats? The symptoms line up but........ only after a month and with no fuel in there? Hmmmmm!

Try lightly tapping the bowls with something heavy......but not too heavy.

Takes seconds and is always worth trying before you start pulling things apart.

A shot of easy start as it is turning over will tell you if its fuel or sparks.

Got her started! I put my heat gun on low over the oil reserve for a little bit and she started up after a few tries.
