Any body know if there is enough room for clip-on with out them hitting the fairing or the tank?

I am making some, check out page 25 WOF for pics. They can be adjusted to be where you want it (within reason) so they'll clear everything ...  Now If you put the 89's clip on's on a 04 ... I think you'll have the switches clobber the tank, cos its not that far from the 89's tank, and the 04's tank is fatter up front ... by quite a bit.
Cool.

Hey thanks for replying!  So I see that it covers the top of the forks but how does it secure on?  Have you put them on he bike already?  And would you have pics of it being on the bike?  How much do you charge for them?

Thanks
Gabe

They have a pinch bolt just like regular clip on's, I do gace pics of it on the bike try page 25 or 26 WOF ... They are $60 for the set ... you get the 2 block things made from 6061 T6, and 2 steel tube things with a nut welded in them and the much redesigned V head stainless allen head bolts ... In short ... all you need to fit it ... even takes press in bar ends ...
Cool.

Hey Srinath,

More questions for ya.  Do my stock bar ends fit in them?  And what about the top handle bar that is in your profile pic?  Do those fit on the GS400F and have clearance?  What is the difference between yours and the other clip-ons?

Thanks
Gabe

The 01+ GS had Press in bar end weights... that will fit, on a earlier bike, there is a threaded insert in the bar ... you could get a rubber bushing and a longer bolt and 2 nuts and make your own press fit I guess and shove that in...
Top bar in avatar or any other bar I have made and sold ... too close to the tank... and you fit the switches etc on and it hits the tank...
My clip on's are machined out of Billet 6061 and are a knock off of the tommaselli's, most clipon's are cast aluminum ... also I have not bored through the thing making for a cap sorta setup, most of the clip on's go through and that makes it weaker ... Mine are also .35 of an inch at the thinnest point ... In short ... they fit a GS, and nothing else, they leave so little room even on a GS ... they are the thickest possible you can get, and they have a failure resistance built in ... aka they will spin and pop off ... You tighten them more or use some extra adhesive tape inside and put it back on after a crash ... That is for the mounting boss only, the handle tube might get screwed up... in whihc case I can make more ... that is a easy one to make. Look for those tommaselli's and you'll see these are a close design parallel ... Thicker wall, better material, and improvements on a proven design ... I had the tommaselli's in 97-99 ... and they broke in a crash ... that is exactly why I went to those taper V head bolts ... The tommaselli's dont actually pop off cos they are not going to bottom out on your forks ... they slide down as far as you push them...
Cool.
