I heard that this was possible, but the wires from the headlight don't even get warm...I just hate to be the guinea pig.  Plus I know how much a new stator costs...

Well.. I don't know jack on whether it would be too much of a draw on the system, but I would want a switch or something to turn off the lights, or at least one of them so it wouldn't be going full blast all the time. My battery doesn't need any help going dead...

Roger that.  It's set up so the low comes on with the key(one side) and the hi beam comes on with the switch(the other light).

I may have just missed it if you already said.. but what dual set up did you get? The Buells?

According to http://www.eurospares.com/gsfaq.htm the generator is good for 225W. That means, that using two 100W bulbs leaves only 25W for other stuff (tail lights, indicators, engine, ignition, etc...).

I think that twin 100W setup could overload the generator. Wiring might not get warm, but it is too thin for 100Ws and you loose a lot of voltage on them (I used just twin 55W setup and voltage dropped ~5V - until I replaced the cables).
