Just got back from a brief vacation in Vegas.  The highlight of which (for me, at least) was renting a bike and riding through Death Valley.  I rented an 04 Goldwing (so my wife would be comfortable) and did about a 340 mile trip in one day.  Specatacular scenery.  Most of the roads were good to excellent.  The bike was a lot more fun than I thought it would be.  Good cornering clearence, good acceleration, nice ride.  At higher speeds it does use a fuel quickly.  You can almost watch the gauge drop.  You really notice it because fuel in some of these towns is $3.00 a gallon.   The food at the Furnace Creek Inn is all it is reputed to be.  Highly recommend the ride, at least in the winter.
