I couldn't help it, I now have a '74 ironhead Harley to chill with my gs.  I got it for a song and don't think I'll regret it.  Just exited and thought I'd share.

Sounds like fun!  Is that one of the AMF bikes?  I don't remember when Harley went bowling ;)

HD merged with AMF Dec. 1968.  It lasted about 12 years.

Should be a "shovel head" engine.

I think they were making ElectraGlides, SuperGlides and Sportsters then.

If I'm not mistaken, wasn't the AMC era not good for Harleys? As well, is there some sort of marker in their history recently where they improved? There was this guy at a bar who was griping about his, saying that the year after his (some time in the early 90's I think), the Sportsters got a lot better mechanically. Does this ring a bell for anyone?
What say you, broccoli? Stop mocking me!

The easy way to spot a harley from the AMF years.... check the puddle of oil under it... You should see the floor in my old man's garage!

No pics yet, not much to look at yet either but I'm a hands on guy and will make 'er look sweet soon enough.  Iron head for sure...And I heard the problems didn't get bad till the late '70 early '80s.  Guess I'll soon find out  ;)
