I finally got the bike back together last night and rode to work today. Today was the first day in a week or so that hasn't been below freezing, roads were still a little wet. Not sure if it was the bike or just me, maybe i was just paranoid. It was kinda scary, it's been over a month. Had to take it easy, i felt like a newbie rider again. I'm sure after a couple hundred miles I'll be back to the agressiveness that i'm use to. I have some before and after pics of the bike i will get up later today.

Going to repaint all satin black like the rear section is with some kind of yellow tribal art on the side. I have new flush mount signals for the front that will go on after the paint job, barends on, new GSXR Mirrors that are shorter, rejetting this week or next, drop in UNI filter, and my new SS Wileyco exhaust will be on next week.

nice work...how much did it cost you to repair?

Insurance quote was $1300. I've spent around $300. Probably will spend about $50 more for the rest of the paint.

I dunno... there's a certain condiment appeal to the current scheme... ;)

Good to see you back up and riding!

I agree. The left side fairing and case cover don't look that bad. I kinda like the red upper/yellow lower. The black rear really allows you to focus on the red/yellow separation. Makes me think of a WWII P-51 Mustang with the nose all painted up.
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

good judgement trumps good skills every time.

It is simply amazing how much money you can save repairing the bike yourself.  My experience with cost is about the same.  I didn't bother to call the insurance company since I had no one to blame but me!  :o
$1300 !  Who would have thought that my meager skills are worth $1000?

On a positive note, I did learn a lot about the bike; including how to put on decals.

Glad to see you riding.  I still quake every time a make a left turn.
