Are the CFM pegs a direct replacement for the stock pegs? do you need to buy separate brackets.  Jimmy

Daniely

I have a set on my bike, they are a direct bolt on. CFM sells a set specifically for the (race) GS500, but your bike doesnt need to be race to run em. Very light and VERY VERY strong pegs...I believe Dguyver or BobB is running them, and mentioned dropping it without any damage to the pegs.

Hope this helps!

Doesn't anybody know how to go to google.com and type in a couple words?

Here's a direct link for those too lazy...

And yes, they do increase cornering clearance by a bit.  But...and this *could* be a potentially big "but", they WILL not fold up if they do contact the ground.  It's up to you to decide if the risk of the rearset levering your back tire off the ground is worth it.

Hope this helps.

Daniely,

What type of mods if any did you have to do to get the WoodCraft CFM rearset to work?  I was told that you would have to add 1 1/4 inch to the shift lever.  I'm thinking of buying a set for my race GS.  Let me know.  Thanks Tony.

You only have to add length to the shift lever if you want it to be in the same relation to the peg as stock.  If you are fine with it being an inch or so further out, requiring a little extra movement of your foot on the peg, then it doesn't need to be modified at all.

I used CFM pegs for several years on my race bike and never had a problem with them, but then I have pretty big feet too...

Cool Thanks.

I'm in need of the rearsets.  I dragged my stock pegs and dumped the bike at a trackday in Dec.  On raceday I had to be really careful when leaning or coming in to the turns to hard.

I'll be racing CCS (CCS #618) Florida come Feb. on my 91 GS.

Mine are still using the stock levers, course i have a size 13 foot so.... They work great.

There are two other options.

Just buy two CFM pegs and bolt them into the stock bracket after grinding tabs for stock pegs off and drilling.  You can move the pegs up and back about a half of an inch.  Costs you about $50 and an hour of your time.

Another way is to buy the CFM rearsets and then buy a Suzuki shift pedal and peg, a shift rod (I think it is 9 and a half inches, but I will measure it if anyone is interested) and go to your local Suzuki dealer and buy a TL 1000 hiem joint that bolts to the shift shaft.  This way you can GP shift.
