Replacing the choke cable

Over the weekend it was pretty cold here in DC, and I think my choke cable froze. So I pulled on the lever very very hard, and with a jolt the choke lever started moving again. But now it doesn't do anything. I'm assuming I need to replace my choke cable. I'm going to head over to the dealer this evening and pick one up since it's kinda hard to start the bike without choke when it's anywhere below 80 degrees.

But my clymer manual doesn't say anything about replacing the choke cable. Does anybody remember how? I assume Kerry has some pictures to help me out.

You will need to take the tank off.
Look at how the current choke cable is routed.
Without detaching the broke cable, route the new one parellel with it.
You now know how the cable goes.
Detach the old, connect the new.
Gently pull the old one out (you may do this before you connect the new one, if the old one gets in the way).

Adjust the slack with the handlebars turned all the way to the left.
