Quote from: TRGSJack, the later link works but shows only the rack pictures, if you e-mail (sergiodelrio@prodigy.net.mx) it to me I can post it from a different server than yahoo's...

Sent you e-mail with my GS500 test data collection attached.  Maybe you can display it.  The last link I posted here shows 5 items and appearantly only 2 are showing for you and manofthefield, the rack pics that are in .jpg form.  The GS500 tests and the tire logs are in .txt form.  That may be my problem.  Will try to convert them to jpg.

I had no problem using both forms with AOL, but am using SBC Yahoo DSL now.  Different setup.  :dunno:

Cool.
Srinath.

Srinath, there is so much difference in my 2 bikes that it has to be more than the carb change.  They must have retuned the cams for better mid-range at the sacrifice of a little off the top end.  Anyhow, I like the new setup much better.

If I ride the 97 for a few days it seems like the same old bike I enjoyed for 5 years and then when I get back on the 02 again it is so much better I don't want to use the 97 anymore.  I'll keep the 97 for backup, but it won't get much more use.

I've drag-raced Danny on his 01, and it's been about equal.

He's got Jardine full exhaust, Kevlar clutch, 140/80 rear tire, K&N pods, rejetted for Reno, we're 3K feet below there, V&H advancer and with the jetting in there now has a big flat spot in the middle of the range, and doesn't pull hard till 8K when it yanks pretty well.  Stock gearing on both bikes.

I've got and 00 with drilled stock exhaust, stock air filter, rejetted (can't remember what though) and a 150/60 rear tire.

He's got 12K miles on his, I've got 8600.

Both bikes have recently undergone oil changes to 10W40 Yamalube semisynth, along with Suzook filters, less than 500 miles on valve adjustments and properly adjusted pressures/chain tension.

I believe he weighs around 230, I'm at 185-190.

Just thought it'd be an interesting comparo.

Thanks for posting this TR.  Looks like you printed my data sheet and then scanned it so it could be taken to a photo program to work on.  I used to do it that way till I discovered I could upload the .txt form to my AOL FTP space and link it.   Appears this won't work with the Yahoo Briefcase setup but I'll still persue it since it's so much easier to update the data sheets if kept in the txt form.

chinox22x

i'm about 170 lbs, 5'10"..... on a gs500f - not jetted yet, just a k&n drop in filter. no engine mods.

i've taken it a few times more than i wanted over 100+mph...blame it on juvenile behavior on my part.

with the throttle all the way down, on 6th gear, it tops at about 118 on the speedo.  that's with me ducking down under the wind shield.  :dunno:

acceleration wise, this bike pulls on 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear below 70mph.  anything above that, its a slow acceleration compared to a car.

You're welcome Jack. I didn't print/scan the sheet, just opened the file and ScreenPrinted and pasted on a JPG file, in two steps because my monitor only supports 800x600 mode, and uploaded it to my ISP webspace, that's it! And sure you're right about updateing, I didn't try to link it in text form.

What called my attention is the EX500 going from 60-80 in only 5+ seconds, against GS's 8+ seconds, otherwise figures look quite even.
