Im going to order a good load of parts in the next few days and rejetting supplies are on my list.  Im not really sure what I need so Im hoping some of you can help me out.  My bike is a 93 GS, it will have a single K&N pod and Vance and Hines exhaust.  I live in Iowa so whatever that is in elevation.  Thanks for any help.

So if I go with the stage 3 kit recommended on that one thread I should be close?

150 mains, #40 pilots(without the 8 holes, 37.5 if they have the 8 holes), one #4 washer on the needle, and 3 turns out

Those pilots with holes ... you tried 37.5's Dom ... and did they make it work right ...see I have used it in place of the 40's in my bike, but I dont like to install it or suggest it to others ... I am afraid it might back fire ... however you couldn't find the no hole type at all and hence used the holes right ...
Cool.

Sounds good, thanks for the help everyone.

So what do the pilots look like with the 8 holes?  The stock ones just have one hole going straight through, but my new ones have the same one straight through but then some other additional holes on the sides?  Any ideas?

Sorry, I'm late checking in on this thread. In your post about the jets with the links, the first one appears to be ok; the second, you want the pilot jets in the middle (non-bleed type), without the holes across the barrel. You got the ones with the holes (bleeder type pilot jets). You may be able to make these work though.
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

OK Un official word ...
With holes around the side try 37.5's yea stock size for the ones wihtout holes ...
No holes around the side = 40's ... those holes have the effect of making it a shade richer ... but I need to have independent confirmation... dom tried it AFAIK ... dont know what it was like, I have tried it and it was good.
Cool.

can i throw in an extra twist???

what do you recomend for a person switching to the K&N lunchbox, but keeping the stock exhaust???

i havent found a recomendation for this setup other then "just update the exhaust".

thanks!

I dunno try a 145 main instead of 150 ... too many have complained they didn't ever get it to run right ... and I believe its a physical possibility ... that you wont get it running right. In many cases I believe if you keep good records and made small changes and measured their effect etc etc ... you will get it right ... so maybe it will take longer than you have patience for ...
Cool.

Crap, I thought that was gonna be the case.  I dont know I suppose I will probley just have to order the 37.5 bleeding type since I have the 40's now.  :dunno:

Dom

Well, I just bought some 37.5 bleeders.  I'll let you all know how they work.
