Carb Sync 2002 - 2 questions

So I am getting ready to sync my carbs on my 2002 this Wed and since there is a vacuum line running to the petcock from the port on the right carb where I need to attach my gauge I have a few questions.

1. Do the carbs need balanced equal or does the right one need a bit more or less because of the vacuum line attached to it?

2. Will my motor run properly while I sync the carb because I have removed the vacuum line to attach my carb sync tool? :dunno:

    1. Adjust them to be equal.

    2. All the motor "knows" is that it is applying vacuum pressure
somewhere.  It should apply the same pressure even if the vacuum port were capped off like the other one.  It certainly won't "know" that the pressure is being applied to a synch tool rather than to the fuel selector switch.[/list:u]As far as the motor having fuel to run on while you do the synchronization, use an auxiliary fuel tank and turn the fuel selector switch to the PRIme position.

i guess what i want to know in Question 2 is will the fuel selector swich still function to deliver fuel to the carbs without the vaccum line running to it.

Yes, if it's in the PRIme position.  The ON and REServe settings won't pass fuel without the vacuum impulse.  The PRIme setting will let fuel go through regardless of the vacuum.
