This is the one I have, an '04 in "speedy" black.
Going to the Pine Barrens on Sunday, just to checkout the area.

I don't understand what's wintery about most of those bikes.  Sure, the Bimmer, the Strom-trooper, and the Strada, but the cruisers?

Nice bikes though.

With the exception of the cruisers, all of those bikes are way too tall for me.  Even some of the cruisers are too tall for me.  And they're all heavy; I wouldn't want to be sitting around on a slick surface trying to pick any of those monstrosities off of the ground if I did hit some unexpected gravel or ice.  Screw Forbes, I'm sticking with my F650.

Roadstergal, you do have a point  about the weight of larger bikes being too much to pick up. The GS500 is light enough but I'm hoping the Vstrom 650 will also be manageable; yes I've seen the photos of the gal picking up a larger BMW (Skert), but wait 'til she has blown knees and then tries it.
Not quite ready for the "no feet down" training wheels yet either. Waiting for the hydraulic jacks they put under Formula 1 to make their way to bikes ;)
We don't really know what we're doing and even when we do, it doesn't seem to help. Bono

They lose some points for saying the Duc has a crisscrossed frame.

I would think that the XB12 would have more torque than desired for winter riding
