All I know is that I am trailering my bike, my dads bike and his friend so I dont think I would have room plus I live In Venutra~3 hrs north of SD but hopefully you will find someone to trailer your bike.  Jimmy

Do you need a trailer because your bike isn't streetlegal or because you don't want to ride all the way up from SD?

Looking better as far as the chances of me/my dad/my mom going, mentioned it today to my dad and he's said he'd be interested...Will keep ya'll posted.

Don't want to ride up all the way from SD

If I do this I'm going to have to ride down from San Francisco. I dont mind the miles, I'm just kind of concerned about my tires. CLASS wants tires with "90% tread life" remaining. Obviously, my current treads arent up to snuff... but I'm worried that if I replace my tires midweek the week before CLASS and then ride down, I'll no longer have sufficent tread life to pass tech... and I really dont want to ride down early then buy tires in Palmdale or Lancaster.

I still need to choose which tire I want, but I've read good things about the bridgestone Battlax's... and I already have one on my bike (I have mis-matched front and rear tires, for some reason)... so I might just go with those.  :dunno:  :dunno:  :dunno:

Just think if you get 5k out of tires and you have to travel ~400 miles that is less than 10% of your tread life used.  I would think that 400 hundred miles would not be bad because when you buy tires they say to keep the riding easy for the first 100 miles.  Its ultimatly your descion though.  Jimmy

Is this something that you need some bitchin' leathers for? I got a leather jacket and textile pants, but don't zip together.
I love YOU goes to college.

I'd hook ya up with a trailer, but that would mean goin past LA and back trackin to the track. About 4 or 5 hours out of the way. I'm just north of bakersfield so its not that long of a drive for me. Now i just need to buy some riding pants other than my jeans, lol. (can we use the jean riding pants that have hip/kneel padding?)

I bought a pair of pants of newenough.com that were 195 and have all the padding needed.  That was one of the best deals i found.  It also has a full zipper so i would assume that it could attach to a jacket.  Jimmy

check with the class for whether they allow non-zip together leathers-trackdays wont allow it but a track class might be different.

No reinforced jean material is allowed. Most trackday organizers wont even allow textile gear that zips together. the one I do with MTC does allow it and again, a track school might have different rules. Check their website for details.
