about six months ago, i bougt a full laser deeptone system and my GS runs a lot smoother now. i dont know how to say it, but it just runs easyer, better gas reaction. just better(the sound is 100x better than stock exhaust)

sorry for my crappy english, but i'm from the netherlands.....

Your english is great! It is quick, coveys your point very well, is easy and very pleasant to read. And, Welcome!

A stock GS may only need a carb synchronization to smooth it out. Maybe an oil change. If the motor is already apart, balancing the flywheel is a good thing (it should be done nearly everytime the motor is apart).

RIP RICH! We'll miss you buddy!

If your carbs are not synchronized, the pipe wont make a difference. The pipe does look good! I don't doubt it'll make the bike feel like it pulls stronger.

Synch and set the carbs right with perfect jetting - yes big diff, suspension mods and tuning in, yes, exhaust being free flowing etc also helps, valves too should be fairly close to each other in clearance and within spec ... as in if your left intake is ~ 2 thousandths the right should be close to that, and same for exhausts ... but all of that is only going to get you ~ 25% closer to the ideal unless its waaaaay off ... seriously ... I have for years and years felt that the 89 of mine was buttery smooth and everything else was horrible, and they were 90, 91, 90 and 95 ... and last year OK before the 95 showed up ... I cracked the code ... after I rode someone else's 89 ... it was jetted like shaZam! - stock, exhaust was drilled badly and it was lean as crap, probably had a clogged air filter the oil looked like crap and tires werent that great, suspension was stock and over all it was just a neglected sorry little bike whihc didn't even hold idle wihtout choke ... but once you were able to get it rolling and took it off the choke ... it wasn't that far from my near perfectly settled albeit well worn 89 ... Bingo ... handlebars, the angle, their height and location and everything that the 89's handle bars are ... make it vibe free... hence the real deal for me was to make the bars that fit the GS that ended up being just like the clip on's of the 89. Those tube type 2 weld bars worked well for killing the vibes and their extra weight eliminate the need to weights as well. And Oh yea make sure the rubber things under the triple are good and not chewed up.
Cool.
