Well guys, I finally did the mod I've been planning on for a while. It was over a year in the making.......

I traded in the GS so that's why I've been selling all my other stuff in the SELL forum.  The SV is a great bike, the seating position will take some getting used to, the transmission is extremely smooth compared to my GS. Power delivery is good and there is more of it  :)

mmmm.. sweet!!!!!

I love that bike..

Considering its a 650, how much more power does it have compared to the gs500.

RIP RICH! We'll miss you buddy!

Great stuff...I had my window open only a few inches...so I could only see the very top of the tank, and the gauge cluster.  I figured somebody adapted a new, very nice looking cluster to the old GS...

Enjoy the slickshiftin' V!!!

Not so much horsepower, but more, like general power. Is it just THAT much better?

QuoteIs it just THAT much better?

Depends. The bike is THAT much different. The shifts are a big improvement. Not that I missed shifts on the GS, but the feel is much smoother. The engine is a lot smoother, which is a big improvement to me. I'm in the break in period, but the extra power is already noticable. People complain about the saddle, but it is seems as comfortable, or more than the GS.

The whine of the fuel pump when you turn the key to on is also an "improvement." It justs sounds cool.

On the annoying side the bike doesn't have the bungee hooks in the same spots so my tail bag doesn't work so well on the bike. The mirrors are too close to the bike so you have to shift an elbow to get a clear picture behind you (not a problem on the non S model).

WoW thats a beautiful bike. I was torn betwee a CBR and the SVS for my next bike, but i just LOVE the look of the S. Let us know after the break in period how the power compares to the GS, if you can even say "compares".

well the bike does have 2X the power (litteraly... well according to a friend's dyno sheed with a Power commander and a pipe).

Add in better ergo's, wind protection and FInjection... yeah its that much a better bike, I guess theres not really any comparison really... its on my wishlist for a next bike :D

I was think about trading my gs in one, i love them but i'd have to get the lower fairing too.

Congrats!     Yours is faster than mine... :)  Have fun with it!!  I took the SV out after a month or so of riding the F650 (nasty cold rainy icy weather), and was just so delighted to be back on that flickable V-twin again.  Joy!
