i've heard it sounds bad... :dunno:
My hunch was right...Pandy is the biggest Post Whore!

i've drilled mine...it's definitely louder...but not even as loud as bigger bikes with pipes...

it sounds bad at idle...but nice when reved up...and maybe it's just me...but i think it makes the bike "feel" differently...not power or handling...but the vibe of it...

It is deffiently louder, but it sounds like a bike with holes drilled in the exhaust... very hollow.
I only have 4 3/8" holes drilled in it. Is a bit louder but not much.

I wouldnt do it if I were you, I did it and am not satisfied really.  My bike is also less powerful when trying to hit 100 or so.  I only drilled a 1/2 inch hole.  I would agree it does have a hollow sound.

I drilled 3 3/8ths holes and on my otherwise stock (besides Pablo's recommended change of mains) '00, it opened up the top end and I could tell it revved a bit faster into the higher RPM's.

My friends all hate how it sounds, but I don't care, it sounds good while I'm winding it out, so it's good enough for me.  I like the tone better than Daniely's Jardine full system, but I haven't ridden that very hard yet, so I don't know what it sounds like beyond 5-6K or so WOT.

I say drill 'em!!!   :thumb:

Or shoot some holes in it!  :guns:

If you really can't stand the way it sounds you can have a welder fill 'em up...they would probably do it for free because it's such a simple job and would take about 30 seconds to accomplish.

Old Mr. Wilson

I drilled mine with 6- 3/8 inch holes and also took a dremel tool and cut that tip off flush in the middle of the pipe. It has a full rich mellow tone.
I actually like it. No noticable power loss or gain. But beware.......
ya can't go back! I drilled a few at a time. The dremel tool was the last thing I did. I just couldn't STAND not hearing the pipe while going about!
And I ain't about to spend any money on an aftermarket exhaust at this stage of the game. I only have 1507 miles on it. It is a year 2000 model that I bought new in the crate in April of '00. I ride it for therapy. It's a 1/4 mile to the store to get beer. That's a lot of beer! :)
Hope this helps, Wilson
Taxes are Good. Millions that have been on Welfare for the last 30 years are depending on you. Also Millions that are coming over the border each year are depending on YOU.
Also taxes will fix our shitty schools and roads that have been broken for 40+ years.

You really don't get it do you???
