quick, but almost dumb question

how in the hell do you get the choke cable out of the top of the carbs? i cant seem to get the little ball on the end out of the lever. do you have to bend the lever out to get the ball out of it?

Do you have a '89-'00 model, or an '01+?  The instructions apply fairly well to both, but on '01+ bikes the mechanism is closer to the left carb than the right one.
