connecting gas tank to petcock

hey all, im reattaching the gas tank after pulling the carbs.  The two lines that run from the gastank to the petcock valve, i dont remember which one connects where.

The gas tank has two openings, one is a little longer, the other is shorter, which one goes to fuel, and which one to reserve?

For those 2 particular hoses, the easy way to remember it is to route them so they're side-by-side all the way to the tank.  (They should NOT cross over one another.)
