So I bought my used 89 GS500 2k miles ago it a new engine put in a few miles before I bought it.  I changed the oil today following the instructions on GStwin.com and in the haynes manual.  Everything was pretty logical, cleaning off the oil filter cover was nasty, as the last time the oil was changed they didn't have a new o-ring so they just smeared liquid gasket all over.  3 quarts of synthetic oil, one crush washer, new oil filter, and new o-ring later, and I have a bike that sounds a lot nicer when it runs.

Thanks GSTwin.

Well good for you. I bet it runs a little smoother and shifts smoother to.
