Seat cowling and new rear sets?

Anybody know if and where you can get a seat cowling for the GS ?

How about new rear sets to move the foot position back a bit?

I believe a couple of people are trying to get some solo seats made here on the site, or you could get a R6, GSX-R750, or like I just got, a CBR tail section and modify it to fit your GS. As for the rearsets, the older CBR rearsets work with little modification. I have these also, just not installed yet.

Any idea of how much modification is needed to make the GSXR or R6 fit?

I have yet to tackle this job, I get my CBR rear fairing today after work. I know a couple of people on this site have done it, maybe they will chime in here soon.

Ok with my 01 GS (now mstrinds) we bought a GSXR 750 tail. Now with the new subfram of the 01+ GS (raised up seat/tail mounts) it wouldnt fit without cutting the subframe and rewelding (which is ideal if i had another subframe :( ). however, with the 89-00 it is ALMOST a direct bolt on. It sits on there REAL well, you would just need to find a way to make a seat work. It looks DAMN good on an 89-00, I think mk1incali got some pics of it while i had it on his bike, ill look for em. If you need any info ask tt_four or myself and I will help you all I can, tt_four modded an R6 tail to fit his bike (i had no idea the subframe was different from 00-01 and ran into more problems than he did). Anyways, let me know how I can help and I will.

Mine is a 93, so I guess that's a plus.. Now does this simply cover the oem seat or am I going to need to get a solo seat to fit?  Thanks

You'll have to get the new seats that go with the tail and modify a new bracket for them to latch to.
