I was going to respond to this post but...

Quote from: DomKerry, I suggest that you put this up in the FAQ

Darn it Kerry, why do you have to be so quick on these things? I wrote my reply to that thread and it took me a little while to figure out why I needed to be a moderator in order to reply.

I'm glad that I saw this post. I need to replace my gear and I hadn't started looking yet (I was planning on looking for gear at the IMS in Chicago this weekend) but I'm thinking that I need to do a LOT more research before I walk into a den of saleswolfs.

I've done some looking on the internet, and there still aren't many specifics from the major manufacturers or their resellers. (it was worth a try)

Since this was originally written last year, does anyone know if any of the new stuff coming out for this year (in the US) meets the higher level CE certifications? Or does anyone know of any US resellers who carry such things?

newenough.com has the Teknics Violator jacket with the Knox CE certified armor for $235, seems very reasonable. At first I thought his post was one of those "sophisticated" advertisements, when he failed to plug a company, I really started thinking about what he was saying... seems like common sense to look into armor standards, but it never crossed my mind until now.
