Leaky forks

Hi, my well used GS500 has aftermarket forks (according to the mechanic).  It also has leaking fork seals  
The person who replaced the seals put in "leak proof fork seals", a very short time ago (less than 3k miles).  The forks look like they are in good condition, no pitting.  They do look like they were polished, perhaps they were polished too much?

Should I try replacing the fork seals again, or buy new forks?

The thing about Leak Proof seals is that they require both seal surfaces [the tube as well as the slider where the seal's OD rides] to be in good condition, clean and free of nicks, burrs and leftover rubber from the stock seal.  

Then it needs to be shimmed correctly as per the instructions.  

The advantage of LP seals is that you should be able to replace them without fork disassembly.  Just remove the fork leg from the triple clamps.

so you'd say try hitting the manufacturer up on the lifetime warranty for new seals before spending the big bucks on new forks?
